WHAT IS MULTIMEDIA
Multimedia is a combination of any means or types of media may it be hardware or software to be used for communication of information. It allows users to interact to the digital information as this is an interactive media that provides a lot of ways to deliver information to the user in an advanced manner. In other words, multimedia is a computerized method of presenting information that combines textual data, audio, visuals (video), graphics, and animations.
How to use multimedia?
Multimedia includes, texts, graphics, videos, audio, and animation. The process of using these is by inserting images or videos in your blogs just like what I am doing right now while making this blog. I am communicating with readers using multimedia. I will give you an example of a situation wherein you will use multimedia. Say for example, you are tasked to report a topic in your class and your teacher says "be creative in reporting". The first thing that will come to your mind is pictures, graphics, videos, audios, colors, and a lot more. In order for you to meet the teacher's standards of reporting you need to use multimedia. Adding animations to your report, adding videos that relates to your topic for your classmates to understand the lesson further, and adding pictures for visualization increases the drive of your classmates to listen to you thus enhances their learning capabilities. That is why multimedia is very effective to use in communication of information as it gives a clearer understanding of the information being passed.
Significance of using multimedia.
Multimedia plays a vital role in today's society as people mostly depend on it. It is easier to communicate because of multimedia. Just like in a classroom setting, students often feel bored when it's only the teacher talking about the lesson, but with multimedia the class starts to feel alive. This is because multimedia influences student's willingness to learn. By looking at the pictures, graphics, animations, or videos that is added to the lesson or message you want to convey, students can focus more. This situation is not just applicable in a school setting but it is applicable in every setting.
